STROBE-M is a TEM and IP
receiver, that digitally records the input voltage taken from the receiver
loop or potential electrodes. It is based on a 16-bit ADC and an Analog
Devices signal processor.
STROBE receiver takes voltage
readings at a number of time moments during the on- or off-time. These
readings are actually the average voltages at the integration intervals (so
called strobes), the middle of the interval is considered a reading time
moment. Receiver provides setting an appropriate measuring time scale. The
whole measuring time interval in STROBE receiver can be divided in two stages:
the early and the late stage (see transmitter and receiver diagram). Different
linear time scales for early and late stages can be set, that is made for more
detailed study of initial stage of decay.
Synchronization of the receiver and the transmitter in the TEM mode is
performed via the synchronization cable. In the IP mode synchronization can be
either autonomous (on the input voltage drop), or external (via the
synchronization cable). |

The receiver is controlled
by a computer connected via RS-232C serial interface. Beside the computer
supplied together with the instrument (Palmtop type computer with Windows CE
OS), any notebook type computer with OS Windows 98 or later and RS-232C
standard serial interface can be used as a control one.
Receiver control
program provides setting the measurement parameters, start-up of measurement
in the selected mode, visualization of measurement results and generation of
data files. |
