HarbourDom tries to
meet client’s requirements by technology transfer and by support of
available hard- and software. This is not always possible. The desired
technologies may be not adequately developed or not be adapted to the
client’s demands. In this case HarbourDom tries, often together with others,
to further develop or adapt these technologies and make them applicable in
the field. That development projects may include hardware- and software
components, basic research or field tests. HarbourDom’s position as
facilitator between end-users, manufacturers, service contractors and
research institutes guaranties practical solutions and fast dissimination of
results. HarbourDom's international experience guaranties that the leading
edge of research will be applied.
Examples for
HarbourDom’s R&D activities are numerous projects in the field of
electromagnetic (LOTEM and TEM) and magneto-telluric (MT) methods. But also
petrophysical, innovative logging methods and problems with reservoir
characterization were researched. Those projects have been funded by public
agencies, such as the German Ministry of Research and Education or the
European Union. Field campaigns in France, Italy, Australia and Germany were
part of research activities. In the field of geophysical UXO detection
HarbourDom performed several projects and studies contracted from the
government of Northrhine-Westfalia.
