The Run Time System (RTS) consists of a number of co-operating software
modules that manage a number of logical communication links, each being
connected by means of the Communications Subsystem to Data acquisition
devices.
The RTS provides an operator interface for system configuration, performs
data acquisition and enables online fault diagnosis to be performed.
Monitor displays provide operators with a continuous view of system
activity and alarms are used to bring exceptional conditions to the
operators attention.
System status can be displayed in a variety of forms either locally or
remotely on the users's own PC. Formats range from simple text displays
through to 2D and 3D representation of the whole volume of interest.
Comprehensive data management tools are provided that allow the querying
of the data to generate reports that can be automatically distributed via
email or viewed via a standard Web browser. Additionally, data ca be
archived on CD.
The RTS is efficient and only requires simpler cheaper desktop type PC's.
For even simpler needs, a laptop can be used.
