Modems
Configuration
-
For ISS Seismometers the
modem is a single plug-in card.
-
For Seismic Controller or
Multiplexer a modem rack/RS232 patch panel is used with one receive modem
per channel and one common transmit/time-update modem per rack.
Description
The Seismic Controller is
linked to the ISS Seismometers via asynchronous serial communication lines.
The ISS modem and patch panel racks are adapted to the special needs of time
synchronization and command broadcasting from the Seismic Controller.
-
FSK using 4-wire copper
lines at 9600, 19200 or 38400 bps
-
RS232 with optical fibre,
leaky feeder or digital radios can be used with standard equipment
supporting RS232
-
RS485 with support for
multiple ISS Seismometers on a single pair of copper
-
Dialup via fixed or mobile
telephone (SAQS)
-

Multiplexer datasheets.
Intelligent
Multipexer
Description
-
The Intelligent Multiplexer
(IM) provides a means for condensing the data from a number of stations in
